Overview
Micro Enterprise Development Programmes give rural women and artisans a marketable skill and a first link to buyers. SFARD's MEDPs in Assam cover water hyacinth craft-making, weaving and designing, and organic farming with vermicompost production. FPO members also bring value-added products such as honey, pickles and spice powders to market.
What we do
- 1Water hyacinth craft-making training at Chalia Chapori and Jamuguri
- 2Weaving and designing MEDP at Bhuktabari, Sipajhar
- 3Organic farming and vermicompost-making MEDP at Hatimuria
- 4Packaging and branding support for FPO products
Outcomes so far
- Four MEDPs completed with NABARD RO Assam
- Inaugurated in the presence of NABARD's DGM and DDM and the Apex Bank branch manager
- Value-added FPO products such as honey, pickles and spice powders on sale
